About The Position

US Farathane is seeking an experienced 1st Shift Die Setter Team Lead. The Die Setter Team Lead is to act as a company representative in overseeing the work activities of hourly associates in assigned work area. US Farathane has been a leading source of plastics manufacturing, supplying the automotive industry for over 40 years. Through highly technical research and development, coupled with a diverse and knowledgeable Management Team and dedicated Associates, US Farathane has continued to grow each year. We provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black-box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPE’s and TPO’s as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Hilo License, and crane training required
  • Work well with other employees
  • Safety conscious. Must wear/use all PPE including hard hat
  • Must have lock-out tag-out training.
  • Good time organization.
  • Self-motivating.
  • Ambitious in your job.
  • Follow instructions properly.
  • Neat performance of duties.
  • Willing and able to work seven (7) days a week whenever required
  • Must be capable of completing mold change part to part within 1 (one) hour or less while following all safety rules.
  • Must be capable of completing mold change part to part within (1) one hour or less while following all safety rules (300T – 550T)
  • Document any machine or secondary issues utilizing maintenance work order system.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a conduit for company, plant and departmental communications to employees in assigned area
  • Oversee Die Setter personnel in area assigned
  • Ensure compliance to required schedule in assigned area
  • Monitor all equipment in assigned area for optimal performance
  • Contribute to quality, cost, safety, and efficiency improvements in assigned area
  • Ensure conformance to all process controls, quality and efficiency criteria
  • Train employees in assigned area as required
  • Execute necessary production documentation (i.e., tool reports, scrap sheets, production reports, accident reports, first shot sheets, manning logs, maintenance requests, etc.)
  • Monitor all personnel in assigned area for adherence to company policies and procedures (i.e. quality policy manual, associate handbook, Level II procedures, etc.)
  • Serve as leader for associates in assigned area in group problem solving and employee involvement activity
  • Cooperate with support personnel (Engineering, Tooling, Quality, Maintenance, etc.) on their specific agendas and assignments as they relate to area of responsibility
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures (i.e., quality policy manual, associate handbook, Level II procedures, etc.)
  • Comply with internal and OSHA required safety procedures
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed, submitted and filed in a timely manner
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary
