About The Position

This role is responsible for removing and installing plastic injection molding molds, setting up machines for continuous production, and performing preventative maintenance and repairs on molds. The technician will also operate machine shop equipment and complete required documentation.

Requirements

• Ability to work safely with all hand power tools/machine shop equipment.
• Ability to operate cranes.
• Follow all company safety and other policies.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 2 years related trade school training; or equivalent of education and experience in similar environment (Plastic Injection Molding).
• Ability to accurately read blueprints, product specifications and charts.
• Possess good trouble-shooting skills.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to operate a Forklift in a safe manner, or ability and willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Removes and installs plastic injection molding molds.
• Sets up machines for continuous production by positioning and aligning mold, connecting water, hydraulics, and air feeds as required.
• Adjusts machine control settings to prescribed setup for the part.
• Shuts down molding machines by performing proper lockout procedures, purging material, removing die from machine, etc.
• Sets up and operates machine shop equipment, including milling, lathes and surface grinders.
• Completes required documentation such as tool change reports and production logs accurately and in a timely manner.
• Works toward continuous improvement of all mold change and machine set up procedures.
• Performs preventative maintenance and repairs plastic injection molding molds.
• Various other duties and special projects as assigned.
