About The Position

This role is for a Die Set Technician / Stamping Press Operator on the first shift. The position involves maintaining the responsibilities and essential functions of a Die Set Technician, including having complete knowledge of die setting, press parameters, and the ability to initiate press production runs from a complete shutdown condition to a continuous mode. The operator will perform quality inspection checks, First Off/Last Off inspections, and all 'Inspection Strategy' procedures. Responsibilities also include transporting dies, performing die setups, and changing dies in the transfer press according to the production schedule. Additionally, the role requires performing all rail setups, ensuring they are correctly hooked up and functioning properly, and installing, positioning, and aligning dies on the bolster. The technician will train part packers on their job duties and must be able to maximize each job/die when it is in the press. The position also involves initiating, recommending, or providing solutions through documented Team discussions and utilizing improvement events to optimize the utilization of transfer presses. Documenting all issues with a die and/or press in detail and communicating these issues to the Press Improvement Teams is crucial. The operator will work closely with the Press Improvement Team, Tool & Die, and Maintenance to optimize press utilization, changeover time, press repairs, and die repairs. Required tasks include making gripper adjustments, end stop adjustments, and adjusting coil feed parameters to minimize press downtime. The role may also involve performing small maintenance repairs as needed, strictly adhering to all safety regulations according to company policy, establishing and maintaining excellent housekeeping habits, and performing other essential functions as assigned.

Requirements

Complete knowledge of die setting
Complete knowledge of press parameters
Ability to start the press from a complete shutdown condition
Ability to initiate press production runs to a continuous mode
