Die Maker

Stellantis•Sterling Heights, MI

About The Position

Die Makers produce dies and specialized parts and devices used on manufacturing machines in an automotive manufacturing plant. The role requires practical Die Maker skills to analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and hand tools. Work may involve interpreting specifications, blueprints, manufacturers’ manuals, sketches, and similar documents. The Die Maker plans operation sequences and required materials, applying knowledge of computer technology such as computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) to design and create manufacturing instructions. The role also tests and inspects completed dies to confirm they match the original design and function properly. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are required.
