About The Position

The Die Maintenance Team Member will be responsible for interpreting customer prints, engineering specifications, layout results, and functional requirements. This role involves lifting dies using a hoist or crane, cleaning and maintaining dies, and performing polishing, grinding, and finishing tasks as needed. The position also requires welding using various equipment, measuring die parts with a metric scale, and disassembling and assembling components to design specifications. Additionally, the team member will wire limit switches, report and document activities, fabricate items, and operate milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders.

Requirements

Related certification from college or technical school, or two (2) years experience and high school diploma or G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong knowledge of machining and tool making equipment (lathes, end mills, surface grinders, welders, etc.).
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret design drawings, informal sketches and notes.
Able to read and interpret operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
Communication (verbal communication, listening, written communication, on-the-job training).
Judgment and thinking (original thinking, judgment and decision-making, problem solving).
Performance skills (accuracy with detail, planning and organizing, efficiency).

Responsibilities

Interpret customer prints, engineering specifications, layout results and functional requirements.
Lift dies using hoist or crane.
Clean dies, as needed.
Polish, grind, and finish as needed.
Weld, operating various welding equipment.
Measure die parts using metric scale.
Disassemble and assemble to design specifications.
Wire limit switches.
Report and document activities as needed.
Fabricate items as needed.
Operate milling machines, lathes, and surface grinders.
