Die Cutter Operator

Sun Print Solutions•West Valley, UT

About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, quality-focused Die Cutter Operator for the production team. The role sets up, operates, and maintains die-cutting machinery to cut, crease, score, perforate, and emboss printed sheets into folding cartons, labels, pocket folders, displays, and custom packaging. The operator is expected to take ownership of the machinery, troubleshoot proactively to prevent downtime, work with press, bindery, and shipping departments, and maintain a safe, organized workspace. AM and PM shifts are available; the schedule is four 10-hour shifts each week, with overtime flexibility as production demands require. The operator reviews job tickets, dielines, proofs, and work orders; prepares machine setups; mounts dies and adjusts pressure and make-ready; and installs cutting, creasing, and stripping tools. Equipment includes an MK Heidelberg 40-inch press with blanker. The operator runs test sheets and inspects initial and ongoing production to ensure quality and tolerance standards, monitors output, records inspection findings, and tracks production metrics. Duties also include maintaining tooling, handling and stacking completed work, routine equipment care, troubleshooting and minor repairs, safe material handling, following safety protocols, and assisting with training helpers and peer operators. The role requires standing and walking throughout shifts that are typically 10 hours, regular handling of items up to 50 pounds, frequent bending and repetitive hand and arm movements, manual dexterity for tool and die handling and fine adjustments, and visual acuity for inspecting printed and finished work. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential physical functions.
