About The Position

Oliver Inc. is seeking an experienced, committed, and passionate Die Cutter Operator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have general knowledge of printing and experience operating a die cutting machine. This role is responsible for setting up, adjusting, monitoring, and operating the die cutting machine to produce folding carton packaging according to job specifications and quality standards. The operator will prepare and manage all processes associated with die cutting, including stripping, blanking, and waste removal. They will read and interpret job tickets, monitor the press, inspect finished product for defects, perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and identify/resolve operating issues. The position requires maintaining a clean and safe work area, working collaboratively with team members, and maintaining accurate production and quality records. This role operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where quality, productivity, and attention to detail are essential.

Requirements

2+ years of hands-on experience operating a die cutter in a commercial printing or packaging environment.
Folding carton experience strongly preferred.
Experience with die cutting, stripping, blanking, and related finishing processes.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to make machine adjustments and perform minor repairs.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and understand job specifications, production instructions, and measurements.
Strong math skills and attention to detail.
Good hand-eye coordination and close visual attention to detail for inspecting printed and die-cut packaging.
Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Dependable, team-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality work.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of a manufacturing/pressroom environment.

Responsibilities

Set up, adjust, and operate die cutting equipment to produce folding carton packaging according to job specifications and quality standards.
Prepare and manage all processes associated with die cutting, including stripping, blanking, and waste removal.
Read and interpret job tickets, specifications, and production requirements to ensure accurate setup and production.
Monitor the press throughout the run and make adjustments as needed to maintain consistent quality, registration, and production efficiency.
Inspect finished product for defects and ensure cartons meet customer specifications and Oliver Inc. quality standards.
Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor mechanical repairs on equipment.
Identify and resolve common operating issues and escalate more complex mechanical or quality issues when necessary.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety procedures.
Work closely with other pressroom and production team members to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
