Die Casting Team Member - Weekend 2nd Shift
About The Position
Operate and maintain machines and equipment necessary to manufacture high pressure die cast parts. This role requires adherence to all company policies, quality and environmental management systems, and legal compliance regulations. Responsibilities include removing excess aluminum from castings, visually inspecting parts for quality, documenting production, loading furnaces with ingot material, maintaining raw material and equipment cleanliness, monitoring furnace settings, assisting with molten aluminum tests, collecting and redistributing trimmings, operating the shot blaster, and maintaining a clean work area. Safety is paramount, and employees must perform duties in a safe and appropriate manner, following all work and safety rules.
Requirements
- Meet minimum qualifications stated on job description.
- In current position and shift for 90 days.
- Less than 3 instances for attendance.
- No performance issues or written warnings for disciplinary actions within the past 6 months.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain machines and equipment necessary to manufacture high pressure die cast parts.
- Follow all company Policies and Procedures, Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS & EMS), Kawasaki Production System (KPS) and any other legal and compliance regulations that may apply such as OSHA.
- Remove excess aluminum from hot or cold castings using manual and air tools.
- Visually inspect parts per work instructions to ensure quality.
- Record production through appropriate documentation, marking, packaging and tagging procedures as required.
- Determine, confirm, and manually load furnaces with appropriate amount of ingot material.
- Maintain quality of raw material and equipment by performing proper cleaning procedures.
- Monitor furnace settings, conditions and communicate issues to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with tests of molten aluminum.
- Collect and redistribute trimmings and other excess aluminum.
- Assist Team Leader in duties as necessary.
- Operate shot blaster.
- Perform job duties in a safe and appropriate manner as well as follow all work and safety rules including any specialized safety and health training.
- Responsible for cleanliness of work area.
- Operate, monitor and maintain equipment used in the production process as required.
