About The Position

The Die Casting Operator operates and monitors die casting machines to produce high-quality metal parts while following strict safety and quality standards. Daily tasks include reading visual aids, identifying materials by part numbers, and performing self-inspections on machined and trimmed parts. Workers must also maintain a clean 5S workspace, fill out quality control forms, and follow SQPE (Safety, Quality, and Production Efficiency) processes while reporting any unsafe conditions immediately.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in the metalworking sector preferred.
  • Knowledge of the operating process of machines in the metalworking sector.
  • Interpretation and understanding of visual aids.
  • Ability to maintain 5S workplace organization standards.
  • Ability to safely operate die casting machinery in high-temperature environments.
  • Knowledge of working with high temperature machinery.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Flexible schedule availability.
  • Ability to prioritize and stay organized.
  • Possesses/develops knowledge regarding products, procedures, and policies. Understands critical issues affecting the organization.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
  • Excellent follow-through skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Lifting capacity of up to 30 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the production area.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting.
  • Repetitive movements involving hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.
  • Manual pushing and pulling of production containers and materials.
  • Handling production materials and finished parts.
  • Exposure to elevated temperatures associated with Die Casting operations.
  • Exposure to industrial noise.
  • Exposure to dust, oil mist, and chemicals.
  • Use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Move production containers and materials as part of normal production activities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify materials and all related components using assigned part numbers.
  • Conduct quality self-inspections on machined and trimmed die-cast parts.
  • Maintain a clean work area through daily cleanup and post-mold-change maintenance.
  • Complete quality control documentation accurately.
  • Apply Safety, Quality, and Production Efficiency (SQPE) standards to operations.
  • Complete required operational documentation following work instructions.
  • Adhere to scheduled attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Report unsafe acts, conditions, or health hazards immediately to the immediate supervisor or Human Resources.
  • Follow safety protocols, equipment standards, and 5S workplace organization principles.
  • Read and interpret visual aids and work instructions to successfully execute daily tasks.
