About The Position

Spence Diamonds, a leading diamond specialty concept in North America founded in 1978, is seeking an Entry Level Diamond Sorter for a temporary 4-month contract to provide leave coverage support at their Spence Studio Team in Vancouver, BC. This role involves sorting small diamonds by weight and dimensions for customer orders, using tweezers and sensitive scales. The diamond sorter will also be responsible for maintaining accurate diamond inventory.

• Highly organized, detail oriented and efficient with time
• Ability to multitask and set priorities
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work within a team setting, excellent interpersonal and listening skills
• Strong work ethic
• Proficient Microsoft Office and computer skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada full-time

Nice To Haves

• Experience in jewelry industry is an asset but not necessary

Responsibilities

• Manage small diamond inventory
• Preparation of daily shipment, receiving and shipping
• Sorts diamonds according to size for use in jewelry, using sieve, loupe, and precision measuring instrument
• Reads work orders to determine sizes required to fit mountings
• Measures diamonds, using magnifying tools, or sorts diamonds, using sieve of specified diameter, to segregate sizes required.
• Data entry in Microsoft Excel
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada full-time
