Develops new and improved processing methods for diamond fabrication. This role involves identifying, initiating, and implementing new processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy for existing products, as well as developing and implementing processing methods for new product initiatives. The engineer will work collaboratively to address high-profile issues and projects, manage project scopes and timelines, and ensure new processes are effectively implemented and maintained. A key aspect of the role is transferring technology and processes from R&D to production, ensuring robustness, and providing thorough documentation, communication, and training. The engineer will also evaluate new equipment and fabrication techniques, propose new equipment, and identify ideas to reduce processing steps and increase capabilities. Additionally, the role supports production and quality by advancing yields, quality, and throughput, developing metrics for improvement, and utilizing statistical and quality tools for problem-solving. Project documentation, cost and capacity models, and cost reduction goals are essential components. Training on new and existing processes, tooling, and equipment is also a responsibility. Strong communication and teamwork skills are required to interact with operators, supervisors, maintenance, and management, fostering a cohesive work group and preparing reports and presentations for management. The engineer must also ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures, conduct safety audits, and maintain clean work areas.
