About The Position

This role is responsible for performing direct patient care related to hemodialysis treatments under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The technician will be responsible for setting up dialysis equipment and supplies in a safe manner and collaborating with all members of the team for the overall provision of optimal dialysis treatments. The patients requiring dialysis are adult patients with Acute Kidney Injury, often due to critical illnesses such as trauma with shock, cardiothoracic surgeries, heart failure, liver failure, sepsis, or COVID. Dialysis may also partner with Pheresis for autoimmune processes or be performed at the ICU bedside for drug overdoses to help stabilize the patient and preserve organ function.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • 1 year of college education OR 1 year in a clinical support role Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
  • Hemodialysis Tech Certification (CHT) or (CCHT) Required within 1.5 Years
