About The Position

DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Logan Dialysis and Rivers Edge Dialysis Centers in Ohio. Paid Training Provided! You will be expected to work M/W/F at Logan Dialysis (10-hour shifts) and every other Saturday at Rivers Edge Dialysis - ranging from 30 - 40 hours per week (depending on patient census). Some details about this position: Schedule/Clinic Hours : M/W/F at Logan Dialysis, 5:00am - 7:30pm. Rivers Edge Dialysis 5:00am - 4:00pm (opener to come in as early as 4am). PCTs expected shifts for this clinic: 3-4 days/week with a minimum of two Saturdays/month and can be asked to start as early as 4:00 am. Hours of work may vary during the training period; however, you will typically be working between 32-40 hours per week during training. Logan Dialysis - This clinic has 12 chairs, Braun dialysis machines, and schedules 1 RN and 2 - 3 PCTs per shift. Rivers Edge Dialysis - this clinic has 12 chairs, Braun Dialysis machines and schedules 1 RN and 2 PCTs per shift. You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday. Paid training: DaVita offers all new dialysis teammates a robust, paid training program to help you learn the right dialysis skills. The training is a mix of classroom and hands on training. Reimbursement for your Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) license. Our PCTs also find DaVita professionally fulfilling. Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic with a class of new teammates other than your assigned home clinic.

Requirements

  • Outgoing, eager to learn, reliable (attendance is crucial), adaptable to change, looking for a rewarding and challenging career.
  • Comfortable with early shifts and long hours on your feet.
  • Love a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb.
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Health care experience preferred including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

  • Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
  • Care for up to 4-5 patients at a time.
  • Prepare the water room and bicarb for patients.
  • Test water for chlorine.
  • Check to make sure tools are calibrated.
  • Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup.
  • Educate patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
  • Work under the supervision of a RN.
