About The Position

DaVita is looking for a Dialysis Tech (PCT) to serve our patients at our Canton Dialysis Center in Canton, OH. Paid Training Provided! This position involves direct patient care, spending the majority of the day in one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment. PCTs care for up to 4-5 patients at a time. Technician duties include preparing the water room, mixing acid/bicarb, testing water for chlorine, and calibrating tools in the morning. The role also involves monitoring patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Continuous improvement is a focus, aiming to improve processes for patients and teammates. Building long-term relationships with patients receiving treatment three times a week is key, along with educating patients on kidney dialysis-related topics. PCTs work under the supervision of an RN within a cross-functional team of clinicians.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be comfortable mixing acid or bicarb.
  • Flexibility and availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
  • Ability to lift minimum of 5 pounds to a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions.
  • Ability to interact in person and by phone clearly and efficiently.
  • Ability to use computer and all peripherals as needed to meet goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare experience preferred including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities
