About The Position
Queens-Long Island Renal Institute (QLIRI), located on the lobby level of the renowned Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation in New Hyde Park, New York, is seeking Hemodialysis RNs to join their team. QLIRI offers state-of-the-art in-center hemodialysis treatment for kidney disease patients, with an experienced interdisciplinary team of nephrologists and renal nurses providing chronic dialysis services in a comfortable and modern setting. The institute is situated on the Queens-Nassau border and has a reputation for high-quality care, advanced technology, and patient dignity.
Requirements
- New York State RN license
- Active BCLS (ACLS preferred)
- At least one year of recent experience in a chronic dialysis setting.

Responsibilities
- Perform an age-specific plan of care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other health team members in coordinating and implementing procedures and treatments.
- Use leadership skills and clinical judgment in coordinating patient care and directing/delegating activities of the patient care unit team.
- Assess the patient's physiologic health status.
- Assess patient's psychosocial health status.
- Identify patient outcomes.
- Formulate the plan of care and establish priorities necessary to achieve expected outcomes.
- Implement the plan of care.
- Evaluate care provided for patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with other care team members in planning and carrying out treatment regimens.
- Provide direction to other members of the care team.
- Administer medications correctly and safely.
- Participate in patient and family education.
