About The Position

Queens-Long Island Renal Institute, located on the lobby level of the renowned Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation in New Hyde Park, New York, is seeking a Per-Diem Hemodialysis RN to join our team of professionals. QLIRI provides state-of-the-art in-center hemodialysis treatment for kidney disease patients. Our experienced interdisciplinary team of nephrologists and renal nurses offer chronic dialysis services in a comfortable and modern setting. Requirements

RN license in NYS
Graduate from an accredited nursing program
Active BCLS
At least one year of recent experience in a chronic dialysis setting

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
ACLS preferred

Responsibilities

Performs an age specific plan of care for a designated group of patients using the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
Collaborates with physicians and other health team members in coordinating and implementing procedures and treatments.
Uses leadership skills/clinical judgment in coordinating patient care and directing/delegating activities of the patient care unit team.
Assesses the patient's physiologic health status.
Assesses patient's psychosocial health status.
Identifies patient outcome.
Formulates the plan of care and establishes the priorities necessary to achieve expected outcome.
Implements the plan the care.
Evaluates care provided for patient outcome.
Collaborates with other care team members in planning and carrying out treatment regimen.
Provides direction to other members of the care team.
Administers medications correctly and safely.
Participates in patient and family education.
