About The Position
The Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN Days position involves maintaining dialysis machines and providing direct patient care. Under the direction of nursing leadership, the RN utilizes the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care. This includes interdisciplinary and discharge planning, patient and family education for post-hospitalization care, and accessing community resources. The role may also involve Charge Nurse duties, requiring ACLS certification. Dialysis Nurses are specifically responsible for overseeing dialysis treatments for patients with acute or chronic kidney failure as ordered by physicians.
Requirements
- RN License in the state you are applying
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification is preferred initially and required after 90 days of employment.
- ACLS is REQUIRED from day 1 for all Charge Nurses, High Obs, and ICU.
- Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
- Utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit.
- Planning, coordinating, and providing patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources.
- Overseeing dialysis treatments required by patients suffering from acute or chronic kidney failure as ordered by physicians.
- Performing other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).
