About The Position

The Dialysis Registered Nurse provides care to chronic, critically ill patients in an inpatient post-ICU critical illness recovery hospital. Using independent and interdependent judgment, the nurse maintains quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. In collaboration with the physician, the Dialysis RN implements the assessment plan and evaluates and follows up on the patient’s plan of care.

The position is PRN in Madison, Wisconsin, with compensation of $57.00 per hour. The employer provides an extensive orientation program and notes that the role could lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per-diem positions are eligible for 401(k) based on reaching 1,000 hours within the first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year.

Requirements

• Valid temporary or permanent state Registered Nurse license.
• At least one year of hemodialysis experience.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Hemodialysis experience in an acute care setting or acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Initiate ongoing systematic assessments of patients.
• Provide nursing care to meet the needs of hemodialysis patients.
• Interpret assessment data and information.
• Collaborate with providers regarding the dialysis treatment plan.
• Perform hemodialysis as prescribed.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Ensure the nursing care plan is followed and collaborate with physicians on implementation, evaluation, and follow-up of the patient’s plan of care.
