Dialysis Patient Care Technician-CCHT
About The Position
Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI) is seeking a compassionate Patient Care Technician (CCHT) to support patients with end-stage renal disease throughout the dialysis treatment process. Working under RN supervision as part of an interdisciplinary care team, the technician helps deliver prescribed treatments and promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes. DCI provides paid training and dialysis experience is not required. This is a full-time position with four 10-hour shifts starting at 5 a.m., Sundays off, and no overnight shifts. The listed pay range is $21.00–$31.83 per hour, depending on healthcare experience. DCI describes itself as a nonprofit dialysis provider with more than 270 locations in 30 states and nearly 14,000 patients served each day.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Desire to collaborate with care teams.
- Ability to problem solve.
Nice To Haves
- Previous healthcare experience is preferred.
- CNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT, and/or phlebotomy skills are desired.
Responsibilities
- Participate in infection control, risk management, and patient education activities.
- Guide new patients through a 120-day education plan.
- Obtain and record patient vital signs and dialysis machine readings during treatment.
- Work under RN supervision.
- Set up and break down the dialysis blood system for treatment.
- Insert and remove patient access needles.
- Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes, and report concerns to the charge nurse.
- Calculate patient weight loss to reach dry weight.
- Determine patient care priorities and organize workload accordingly.
- Maintain professional working relationships while observing patient privacy and rights.
- Maintain and track inventory.
- Perform laboratory work.
