About The Position

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at U.S. Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse for patients with renal failure. Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent
Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.
Ability to safely mix and prepare chemical solutions following strict safety protocols
Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency; this includes successful completion of USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire.
CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.
Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter. Specific state requirements may be applicable and required.

Nice To Haves

Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.

Responsibilities

Work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment.
Gather patient vital signs before and after treatment.
Initiate treatment.
Monitor patients during treatment.
Terminate treatment.
Collect patient blood samples per physician orders.
Prepare machines for hemodialysis treatments.
Clean and disinfect machines after treatment.
Conduct machine safety checks and logging results for quality control.
Ensure all protocols and regulations are followed.
Use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment.
Be a critical member of an interdisciplinary team providing required patient assessment and care planning activities.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations.
Participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.
