About The Position

Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI) is seeking a motivated and compassionate Dialysis Clinical Coordinator (RN) to support their nonprofit mission of providing individualized care to patients with chronic kidney disease. The Clinical Coordinator, under the direction of the Clinic Administrator, is responsible for the clinical management of the dialysis unit and the supervision of all nursing personnel to ensure safe dialysis treatments. This role involves directing nursing care in accordance with DCI’s policies, Network/IPRO, OSHA, CMS, and federal, state, and local regulations. Requirements

  • Maintain a current NY license as a registered nurse.
  • Completion from an accredited Registered Nursing Program.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years prior dialysis experience preferred.
  • Experience in critical care nursing is preferred.
  • Experience in a supervisory role is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties as a Dialysis Nurse.
  • Supervise and monitor direct patient care provided by PCTs, LPNs, and RNs, including initiating, monitoring, and terminating dialysis treatments, as well as physical assessment of patients.
  • Monitor overall performance and clinical outcomes for the facility in collaboration with the Medical Director and Clinic Administrator.
  • Review patient flow sheets at the end of the day and perform spot checks during the day, verifying documentation accuracy for decreased blood flow rates, prescription changes, early discontinuation, and blood pressure fluctuations, with notification to the charge nurse.
  • Audit flowsheets to ensure transcription and implementation of Physician’s orders.
  • Participate in QAPI and support outcome management through appropriate action plans.
  • Collaborate with the Clinic Administrator for patient care staffing, matching patient needs with staff capabilities and experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Clinic Administrator on the scheduling of patients to ensure timely treatment.
  • Assist in the teaching and training of new staff members as directed by the Nurse Educator (e.g., machines, ROS, procedures).
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert and assist the nurse educator with training for staff in all clinical systems.
  • Ensure vascular access management for patients is documented as needed.
