About The Position

As a Diagnostic Technician, you will support manufacturing quality and operational excellence by performing in-circuit verification testing, diagnosing failures, and repairing electronic circuit board assemblies. Your expertise in troubleshooting and repair will help improve production yields, minimize defects, and ensure high-quality products are delivered to customers.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline required.
  • Minimum of six months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies to the component level required.
  • U.S. Citizenship required to work at this specific site.
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuit board diagnostics and repair methodologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair component-level failures, including opens, shorts, and boundary scan issues.
  • Proficiency in the use of electronic test and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, BOMs, technical drawings, and visual work instructions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and related software applications.
  • Advanced PC skills and ability to learn proprietary software systems.
  • Knowledge of mathematical concepts including ratios, percentages, probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Programming language experience preferred.
  • Experience using electronic diagnostic and test equipment preferred.
  • Previous electronics manufacturing services (EMS) experience.
  • Experience supporting in-circuit testing (ICT) and boundary scan testing environments.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working in a high-volume electronics production environment.
  • Prior exposure to diagnostic process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair opens, shorts, and boundary scan failures to the component level on electronic circuit board assemblies.
  • Operate electronic test and measurement equipment to verify product functionality and identify defects.
  • Interpret and utilize assembly documentation, including schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), visual aids, debug documentation, testing tools, and procedures.
  • Assist the Test Engineering team with data evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing diagnostic efficiency.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to product defects and test failures.
  • Follow established production requirements, policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental process yield and productivity goals.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to diagnostic activities and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, quality, and security requirements.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
