About The Position

This position is for a PRN/Supplemental OR Rad Tech to be available to pick up at least one (1) weekday shift a month, or as staffing is needed at any of the Ambulatory Surgery Centers throughout Indianapolis. The technologist will be responsible for running C-Arms for surgical specialties such as Orthopedics, Pain Management, Urology, and Spine procedures, and will act as a liaison between the OR Teams and Imaging Services. The technologist will operate imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. They will prepare patients by explaining the exam and positioning them correctly, collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging, and follow radiation safety protocols. The role also involves documenting detailed patient history, staying current with continuing education, monitoring patients during the exam for safety, and documenting necessary information in EMR. Assistance with minimally invasive procedures may also be required.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
  • Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
