About The Position

The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist II performs radiographic procedures independently at a technical level. They are responsible for performing technical procedures that require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. They perform patient intake by collecting medical history and must be able to answer patient questions regarding the imaging procedure. They follow specific instructions from providers on what areas to image and guide patients through the imaging process safely and comfortably. In addition, they operate imaging equipment proficiently in several different settings which include surgery and fluoroscopy procedures, have a firm understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body, demonstrate knowledge of proper imaging techniques(i.e. positioning and technical factors) in special populations such as children, the elderly, and patients with debilitating conditions and may confer with providers on the result of imaging tests and may collaborate to determine whether additional images are required.

Requirements

  • Completion of a formal Radiography program with associated certificate or degree.
  • Radiology License Radiology Registration IEMA License in Radiography
  • Radiology Registration from ARRT or Registry Eligible (Must obtain within 6 months of hire if not already registered)
  • American Heart Association (BLS)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with routine diagnostic procedures in General Radiology
  • Previous experience in customer service/patient experience setting

Responsibilities
