About The Position

The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. They are responsible for performing technical procedures that may require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. They perform patient intake by collecting medical history and must be able to answer patient questions regarding the imaging procedure. They follow specific instructions from providers on what areas to image and guide patients through the imaging process safely and comfortably. In addition, they operate imaging equipment proficiently, have a firm understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body, demonstrate knowledge of proper imaging techniques (i.e. positioning and technical factors) in special populations such as children, the elderly, and patients with debilitating conditions and may confer with providers on the results of imaging tests and collaborate to determine whether additional images are required.

Requirements

  • Associates Specific Majors: Completion of a formal Radiography program with associated certificate or degree.
  • ARRT-American Registry of Radiologic Techs
  • Must complete ARRT registry within 6 months of hire
  • BLS - American Heart Association
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with routine diagnostic procedures in General Radiology
  • Experience in customer service/patient experience setting.
