About The Position

South Shore Health is recruiting diagnostic radiologists for employed positions in the Department of Radiology at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts, and its outpatient imaging sites. The position reports to the Chair of Radiology. The department includes 24 fellowship-trained colleagues across diagnostic subspecialties, breast imaging, and interventional radiology, and serves the largest independent health system in southeastern Massachusetts. Its case mix reflects affiliations with Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center, Mass General Brigham, and Boston Children’s Hospital, as well as a Level II trauma center and a Level III NICU. The physician-led department has funded leadership positions, an elected Provider Council, and opportunities for leadership across the system. Available technology includes 1.5T and 3.0T MRI, dual-energy CT, Visage PACS, PowerScribe, and Epic. A new interventional radiology suite is under construction, and the department has dedicated PACS support. The standard diagnostic position offers a four-day workweek and a flexible hybrid on-site and home-reading model. Weekday shifts end at 5:00, 6:00, or 8:00 p.m., with diagnostic call for seven weekends a year. There is no overnight call; overnight studies are read by a dedicated teleradiology service. The position includes 10 weeks of vacation. Schedules are built individually with the Chair and may include part-time (0.6 to 0.8 FTE), subspecialty-focused, general, or blended worklists, with flexibility to change the mix over time. Additional evening and night shifts are available at a premium rate. A fully remote swing-shift option is also described: 3 p.m.–11 p.m., seven days on and 14 days off. Evening shifts are read entirely from home, with after-hours PACS support and a South Shore Health-provided workstation. The posting lists full-time benefits for this option. The stated compensation pay range is $470,000–$540,000. For the standard diagnostic position, total cash compensation may reach $685,000 at target productivity and quality performance, with uncapped earnings exceeding $900,000 for high producers, plus a substantial sign-on bonus and relocation package. For remote swing-shift positions, total cash compensation may reach $510,000 at target productivity, with uncapped earnings over $600,000 for moderate to high producers and a sign-on bonus. The work location is South Weymouth, on Boston’s South Shore. The posting notes proximity to Boston, ocean beaches, Cape Cod, schools, and skiing in New Hampshire.
