This position is located at McDonald Army Health Center in Fort Eustis, Virginia. Fort Eustis is located near Newport News, VA. Requirements

  • US Citizens
  • Successfully completed one full academic year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as a Healthcare Technician or Medical Technician, and other related health science fields.
  • One year of specialized experience which includes performing testing procedures in a clinical laboratory, calibrating or maintaining clinical laboratory instruments, preparing samples for testing, and documenting results through clinical laboratory automated systems.
  • Knowledge of Basic Anatomy and Physiology.
  • Skill in performing a variety of radiographic examinations.
  • Skill in utilizing radiographic equipment.
  • At least 1 year of work experience in mammography

Responsibilities

  • Performing mammography screenings for periodic or baseline examinations.
  • Perform diagnostic mammograms on symptomatic patients.
  • Consult with Radiologist of findings that require immediate attention.
  • Maintaining records of patients treated, examinations performed and scans taken.
  • Explain method of procedures to patients.
  • Position patients for accurate images.
  • Recognize anatomic variants and determine if further examinations are needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
