About The Position

This position is located in the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Department of Radiology Fort Eisenhower, Georgia. The salary range for this position is $55,882 - $72,644 per year. Fort Gordon is adjacent to Augusta, GA and offers a moderate year-round climate with proximity to metropolitan areas, beaches, and mountains.

  • Radiology Certification: Public Law 97-35 requires that persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75.
  • Must have successfully completed an educational program that meets or exceeds the standards described in 42 CFR Part 75 and is accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education.
  • Must be certified as radiographers in their field.
  • One year of specialized experience which includes performing radiological examinations, to include Computerized Tomography (CT); and setting up the x-ray room or preparing or administering contrast material.
  • One and a half years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Diagnostic Radiology/Radiography.
  • Combination of education and experience may be used to qualify if the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

Responsibilities

  • Perform computerized axial tomographic scanning (CT) and x-ray.
  • Receive patients, explain methods of procedures, position patients, and make exposures necessary for the requested examination.
  • Prepare the scanning room, assuring that sterile supplies, contrast materials, catheters and other required equipment are present and laid out.
  • Prepare and administer contrast material (IV) and limited number of anesthetic or antispasmodic drugs such as lidocaine, epinephrine and Benadryl under direction of radiologist.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees, both civilian and military.
