About The Position

This role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures using x-ray equipment to capture images of the human body. The Diagnostic Rad Tech acts as a patient care specialist, working both independently and as part of a diagnostic team under the supervision of a Diagnostic Supervisor and Radiologists. Responsibilities include adhering to policies, state regulations, and ALARA radiation safety principles. The role requires managing patient safety protocols, serving as the primary point of contact for patient imaging needs, and participating in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities. The position may involve working under stressful conditions, such as during trauma cases.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology required
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • CRT - State of California Certified Radiologic Technologist required
  • CRTFP - State of California Radiologic Tech Fluoroscopy Permit required within 180 days of hire or transfer into position

  • ARRT(R) - ARRT Radiography preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks abiding by P&P, State Regulations, & ALARA radiation safety principles.
  • Utilizes x-ray photon producing equipment to image the human body.
  • Works under potentially stressful situations i.e., trauma cases.
  • Performs a variety of imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols.
  • Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.
  • Participates in CQI activities.
