About The Position

Produces high quality images for accurate interpretation while working collaboratively with other healthcare team members toward the best outcome for the patient and organization. This is a part-time position, with PRN (as needed) availability also mentioned. The role involves performing Ultrasound procedures using proper positioning and protocols for optimal diagnostic value in outpatient, inpatient, and clinic settings. The sonographer will be proficient in or willing to learn procedures in multiple modalities to ensure adequate workload coverage. Maintaining a working knowledge of equipment, including safe manipulation and recognition of malfunctions, is essential. The position also requires learning and maintaining knowledge of current HIS, RIS, and PACS systems for accurate patient records. Obtaining proper patient identification and medical history, using safety measures and protection devices to comply with regulations, and willingness to take evening and weekend call on a rotation basis are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

Associate’s degree or equivalent formal training program.
Minimal Experience required, 2–3-year experience preferred.
RDMS RVT(VT) required, OB/GYN, AB, AE preferred.
Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (Exempt if Sonogram only)
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Age-Specific Skills: Neonate through Geriatric

OB/GYN, AB, AE preferred (for Licensure/Certification)

Responsibilities

Perform Ultrasound procedures using proper positioning and protocols for optimal diagnostic value in the outpatient, inpatient and clinic setting.
Proficient in or ability and willingness to learn procedures in multiple modalities to assure adequate workload coverage.
Maintain working knowledge of equipment with ability to manipulate and maneuver safely as well as recognize malfunctions for safety of patient and operator.
Ability to learn and maintain a working knowledge of current HIS, RIS and PACS systems utilized within the department to ensure timely and accurate patient records.
Obtain proper patient identification and medical history needed to ensure consistent and accurate patient care.
Use safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
Willingness to take evening and weekend call on a rotation basis with other Ultrasound Technologists in the Department.
