The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs high quality ultrasound studies for pediatric, obstetrical and gynecological patients under the direction of a Radiologist. The Sonographer participates in the training of other Sonographers, Students, and Residents as required. The incumbent provides diagnostic quality images using accepted protocol; discusses exams with Radiologists using PACS, video and recorded information; maintains accurate patient files; records appropriate and timely information in the computer; maintains a professional attitude; and practices good patient care at all times.

Requirements

Registered with Sonography Canada, including Ob/Gyn and Abdomen as a minimum required.
Registered or eligible to be registered with NSCMIRTP
Must have, and continue to maintain, registry status by obtaining the required continued medical education credits (CME) every three years.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Nice To Haves

Registry in Neurosonography is preferred.
Experience in obstetrics preferred.
Experience in pediatrics and neurosonography preferred.
Preceptor experience preferred.
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Responsibilities
