This role involves providing quality patient care within the medical imaging department, performing high-quality images and exams while being sensitive to patient needs and following safe radiation practices. The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is expected to demonstrate leadership, act as a clinical resource, and ensure current standards of practice.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED required
- ARDMS - registered required
- RDMS(OB/GYN) or (AB) or (BR); or ARRT registered R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(S)(BS)(ARRT) or ARDMS registered RVT(VT) with OB or ABD required within 1 year or hire, or ARRT registered - R.T.(S)(VS)(ARRT) or ARDMS registered RDCS(AE) or (PE) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required
- Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly
Responsibilities
- Perform high quality images and exams on patients.
- Maintain sensitivity to patient needs.
- Follow standards of safe radiation practice.
- Demonstrate leadership for other associate technologists.
- Act as a clinical resource to unit personnel.
- Assure current standards of practice for the unit.
