About The Position

Manages the daily flow of diagnostic imaging patients. Supervises imaging assistants, serves as department mentor and continually works to improve department performance.

Requirements

  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification: Required
  • State Radiologic Tech (RT): Required
  • AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree: Preferred
  • Five years' diagnostic imaging experience: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Reviews daily diagnostic imaging patient schedule and assigns staffing, equipment and supplies accordingly.
  • Ensures timely processing of all patients while prioritizing emergent procedures, minimizing patient waits and optimizing turn-around times.
  • Accurately scans and confirms orders, clinical history, contrast flow records and other pertinent documents using Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Verifies all exams and ensures technologists and radiologists have all pertinent clinical information.
  • Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
  • Supervises imaging assistants.
  • Manages orientation and training of new staff as needed.
  • Arranges transportation of patients to and from department, performing imaging assistant duties as needed.
  • Researches and recommends new technologies and equipment to increase departmental productivity.
  • Monitors and troubleshoots department systems, procedures and production to improve performance.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
