POSITION SUMMARY: The Scheduling Coordinator reports to the Supervisor of Central Scheduling providing clerical/administrative support by coordinating and prioritizing procedures/exams for multiple departments within HHC for physician practices. The Scheduling Coordinator assists as a resource to the physician’s office staff when scheduling and in determining the appropriate test and resolving any issues without disruption between the patient and the department. This position is responsible for the maintenance and storage of Electronic physician orders and determining if the correct test is booked against the Physician’s order.

Requirements

High School degree required
Minimum of at least two (2) years of related Patient Scheduling experience with sufficient knowledge to coordinate a variety of procedures and exams.
Medical Terminology
Knowledge of Medical Insurance.
Current with CPT and ICD-10 Codes.
Extensive Medical Terminology knowledge.
Good understanding of interventional and diagnostic medical imaging procedures.
Must have excellent English written and verbal skills, basic computer and keyboard skills

Nice To Haves

Associates Degree preferred.
