About The Position

Fairview Range is seeking an X-Ray Operator to join our Diagnostic Imaging team in Hibbing, MN. The DI Operator performs imaging procedures by applying ionizing radiation for an accurate diagnosis. This position will provide both inpatient and outpatient services. The schedule for this position will be hours as needed. The Diagnostic Imaging Department at Fairview Range Medical Center and Fairview Mesaba clinics serves patients in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings, offering a wide range of imaging services including x-ray, CT, MRI, mammography, fluoroscopy, pain management, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The department works with a multidisciplinary care team including Radiologic Technicians, Medical Imaging Assistants, RNs, and Radiologists. Fairview Range is an affiliate of M Health Fairview, a partnership of Fairview Health Services, the University of Minnesota, and M Physicians, providing comprehensive healthcare in northeastern Minnesota.

Requirements

Has passed the State of MN x-ray operator's test
Limited Scope X-Ray Op Lic

Responsibilities

Operates equipment using proper technical factors while providing radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
Keeps current on advancing technologies in radiology
Ensure the procedure is explained to the patient prior to the exam.
Assures care of the physical and psychological needs of the patient by maintaining proper positioning and transferring techniques.
Ensure double ID is performed
Responsible for filing and distribution of imaging reports.
Acquire, document and assure proper distribution of patient information.
Following standardized protocols, maintains accurate patient information and documentation.
Ensure equipment is warmed up and in proper working order.
Assemble daily supplies.
Assists manager in proper patient billing.
Prepares daily work requests.
Completes all duties assigned to the afternoon, midnight and weekend when scheduled on the shifts.
Ensures x-ray table and equipment are cleaned on a daily routine basis.
Assembles each room in an orderly fashion daily.
Assigned cleaning is performed on time.
Performs other duties as assigned
