About The Position

Adventist HealthCare is seeking an experienced Part-Time Diabetes Health Educator for the evening shift in Community Health & Wellness. The role involves extending God’s care through physical, mental, and spiritual healing by facilitating diabetes education, including self-management, prevention, nutrition, and lifestyle changes. Education will be offered in virtual and in-person community settings, primarily in the evenings, and may include classes, interactive workshops, and support groups. Adventist HealthCare is a faith-based, not-for-profit organization based in Gaithersburg, MD, with over a century of caring for communities in the Maryland area. It is the first and largest healthcare provider in Montgomery County, known for high-quality, compassionate care and recognized for various medical services. Requirements

  • RN or RD license required
  • CDCES Certification OR at least 2 years of experience providing diabetes education, and willingness to obtain CDCES certification
  • Experience facilitating group learning
  • Ability to captivate and motivate participants in virtual and in-person settings
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and skill development in the field of diabetes
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish speaker preferred
  • Virtual and in-person experience facilitating group learning

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate diabetes education (self‑management, prevention, nutrition, lifestyle change) in virtual and in‑person community settings.
  • Education will be primarily offered in the evenings and may include classes, interactive workshops, and support groups.
