About The Position

The Corewell Health Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology provides a wide range of specialized services for patients in West Michigan and beyond. Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, offering a multitude of care options to the communities they serve, including over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices. This allows clinic staff opportunities to learn and explore various interests or specialize in one area. The Diabetes Educator provides quality education, counsel, and support to clients and their significant others regarding diabetes self-care. They document the education process, patient information, and clinical recommendations according to department/program/regulatory guidelines, and measure outcomes to maximize continuity of care between settings. The educator also participates in projects related to their specialty, and in the development/revision of procedures/policies, educational materials/guidelines, and educational programs. They collaborate with and serve as a resource for other health professionals to promote the delivery of quality services and patient education within the institution and the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing or related healthcare field
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan required or CRT-Registered Dietitian (RD) - CDR Commission on Dietetic Registration required
  • CRT-CPR - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required
  • CRT-Diabetes Educator (CDE) - NCBDE National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators 3 Yrs required

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree
  • 3 years of recent, relevant clinical experience including prior teaching experience with adult clientele
