About The Position

We are looking for an impactful Diabetes Educator who has a passion for providing education and training for diabetes patients! This role will support two locations: 87th Ave Clinic, 700 NE 87th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98664 and Battle Ground, 2005 W Main St, Battle Ground, WA 98604. The position is part-time, 20 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling to be determined with the applicant. New hires generally start between $42-52/hr, with placement in the range based on experience evaluation. The pay range for this position is $41.85 - $62.78. Vancouver Clinic provides care across a wide range of medical decisions, including vaccinations, reproductive health, end-of-life decision-making, and gender affirming treatment. The ability to work with a diverse population of patients and colleagues seeking or considering care in all areas is an essential function of all positions at the Clinic.

Requirements

  • WA State certification as a Registered Dietitian required
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) by Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE) required
  • Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration required
  • At least 1 year of experience providing diabetes care and education in an ambulatory care setting preferred
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Offers are contingent on successful completion of background screen and immunization requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Providing individualized diabetes self-management education/training
  • Initial and comprehensive skills training
  • Planning, education, and self-management care to patients and family members with diabetes and other medical nutrition diagnoses
  • Work in conjunction with diabetes program coordinator to perform DSME program education
  • Integrate nutrition plans into treatment plans
  • Perform individualized follow-up with program participants
