About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Diabetes Education Dietitian to join the outpatient team at Lehigh Valley Health Network, with the flexibility to be based in either Allentown or Bethlehem, PA. This role offers full-time or part-time scheduling options. In this role, you will work directly with patients managing diabetes, providing individualized nutrition counseling and supporting diabetes self-management education as part of a collaborative Diabetes and Endocrinology team. Dietitians in this position practice at the top of their scope, with the autonomy to make meaningful clinical decisions and directly impact patient outcomes. Previous experience in diabetes education is preferred.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian licensed in Pennsylvania
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and interdisciplinary team members
  • Proven ability to effectively engage, motivate and influence others regarding their nutrition
  • Commitment to continued education in the nutrition field and implementation of new and innovative ideas
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.
  • 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in diabetes education is preferred.
  • Experience in education on diabetes management, strongly preferred
  • For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
  • In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire

  • Support continuous improvement and professional growth, including pursuit of CDCES certification
