About The Position

The Diabetes Care Assistant provides advanced secretarial, billing, registration and referral processing services for the Diabetes Treatment Center (DTC). Maintains patient consultation rooms and classroom and assists with ensuring efficient clinic operations. Utilizes critical thinking skills to resolve issues obstructing effective office and department operations. Performs duties using electronic systems and applications as required for the position. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service and professionalism. Promotes a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of administrative secretarial support, billing, or registration experience required.
  • Able to read.
  • Able to write legibly.
  • Able to speak in English with professional quality.
  • Able to use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position.
  • Able to operate and troubleshoot equipment required for the position.
  • Able to perform unit secretarial and clerical activities as needed for position.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Able to be assertive and consistent in following policies.
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
  • Able to accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
