This role specifically involves preparing and directing live and recorded content for NBC10 and Telemundo62 Philadelphia.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of live news television directing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating multiple screens and software applications simultaneously in a broadcast environment.
  • Proficiency with live broadcast production workflows, including technical directing, audio mixing, robotics, commercial integration, live/remote cut-ins, breaking news, video playback, and graphics insertion.
  • Ability to punch and call.
  • Ability to work in both NBC and Telemundo control rooms.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and make critical decisions in a fast-paced live production environment.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • BA degree in Production or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to work in Philadelphia, PA.
  • Must join or be a member of the Directors Guild of America.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Dalet Galaxy, Ross Xpression, Ross Cambotics, Caprica Central Server, video switchers, and audio consoles.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and directs live and recorded content utilizing the Ross Overdrive automated production control system & Dalet Newsroom Computer system.
  • Takes ownership of the show, making quick decisions in various situations and finding workarounds for failures.
  • Builds master rundown patterns for all shows.
  • Works with editorial and production personnel to create and execute newscasts and all content using an automated production control system.
  • Codes rundowns for shows.
  • Shapes the overall creative appearance of the content using imaginative video, audio, and graphics effects.
  • Gives direction and timing to talent and other technicians; may act as a traditional Director when applicable.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Works closely with the editorial team on the creative look and feel of each production, including major special events.
