About The Position

We are seeking a Dollar General Fulfillment Supervisor – Second Shift, to work in the Blairs, Virginia warehouse. The DG Fulfillment Supervisor directly supervises the process for their shift. Responsibilities include supervising the orders being brought into the Blairs WMS through JDE and managing the batching of the orders being directed to Dollar General. Responsible for monitoring the activity of the slotting and velocity of the area, in addition to distributing the workload to the replenishment team.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate with management, colleagues, line staff, and individuals outside the company in order to meet departmental goals.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to three years’ experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment required to include conveyor and sortation experience.
  • Management experience required.
  • Strong analytical skills with a methodological approach to problem solving and implementation.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, and/or facts and recommendations effectively.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related documents.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WMS and JDE.
  • Ability to lead, and to manage groups through project implementation.
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all aspects of business and personnel in the Dollar General area.
  • Releases and monitors waves from the Dollar General area on or before schedule date.
  • Utilizes and reviews inventory from JDE and WMS system to fulfill requirements for maintaining orders.
  • Interacts with all areas of the department to understand issues and assess needs to improve consistency and integrity of processes.
  • Oversees daily management and supervisor of departmental workforce including: providing training and direction, setting deadlines, and resolving problems. Administers corrective action according to company guidelines.
  • Orders and maintains sufficient quantities of consumable items to assure a smooth flow in daily operations.
  • Studies departmental work load and estimates manpower requirements.
  • Establishes and adjusts manpower assignments to meet production goals.
  • Works with Human Resources to interview, select, and train employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Annually prepares performance evaluations for departmental teammates.
  • Provides training to new hires and existing employees.
  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills. Stays current with developments within the manufacturing and distribution field and shares expertise with others.
  • Prepare a daily “hand-off” sheet for the incoming shift.
  • Participates in the daily “hand-off” meeting as necessary.
  • Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others, and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • A commitment to companywide quality and safety is required.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
