About The Position

The DevSecOps Engineer will be responsible for deploying and configuring services using infrastructure as a service providers, managing Linux-based servers, and debugging cluster-based computing architectures. This role involves the installation and management of open-source monitoring tools, developing architecture for continuous integration, deployment, and continuous monitoring, and integrating security considerations into the software development process. The engineer will collaborate closely with developers, IT operations, and IT security to ensure security is embedded throughout the development lifecycle. Additionally, the role may involve leading teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Documented experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt).
  • Documented experience with containerization technologies (e.g., LXC, Docker, Rocket).
  • Proficiency with Linux systems and Azure Cloud environments.
  • Ability to pass a National Agency Check (NACI) and maintain it throughout the duration of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with on-site government agency support preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deploys and configures services using infrastructure as a service provider (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, RackSpace/OpenStack).
  • Configures and manages Linux-based servers.
  • Debugs cluster-based computing architectures using scripting or basic programming skills to solve problems.
  • Installation and management of open-source monitoring tools.
  • Develops architecture for continuous integration, deployment, and continuous monitoring.
  • Integrates security considerations into the software development process.
  • Works closely with developers, IT operations, and IT security to ensure security is considered at all stages of the development life cycle.
  • May lead teams and working groups that assess needs and develop solutions that satisfy functional requirements.
  • May oversee or mentor junior engineers and team members.
