About The Position

Davidson is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal DevSecOps Engineer (Level 3/4) in Boulder, Colorado. This role requires a passion for developing, automating, and securing creative solutions in an enterprise, on-premises environment. The engineer will be responsible for system analysis, designing, developing, building, testing, implementing, and maintaining various systems to meet business objectives. Key responsibilities include ensuring Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and code coverage. The role involves implementing provisioning and deployment techniques via packaging and containerization, managing enterprise container orchestration, and implementing automated testing and security scanning for CI/CD pipelines. A strong understanding of developer ecosystems using CMake and Conan is essential as these tools influence automation development strategies. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related work experience (Level 3), or 8 years (Level 4); OR Master's Degree in STEM and 3 years (Level 3), or 6 years (Level 4); OR PhD and 1 year (Level 3), or 4 years (Level 4).
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance at the time of application.
• Comprehensive technical experience with a variety of DevSecOps tools including Bitbucket, Jenkins, Ansible, and Git/Version Control Software.
• Solid understanding of how CMake and Conan are utilized in development and how they impact pipeline and build automation development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to express technical information clearly across different organizational levels.
• Solid experience working within Agile processes and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience proactively creating automation using Jenkins Shared Libraries to enable quicker builds for app and development teams.
• Experience identifying automation needs and deploying CI/CD solutions utilizing Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Rancher container orchestration platforms.
• Experience creating and implementing automated infrastructure solutions to address strict air-gapped or on-premises infrastructure and security requirements.
• Experience implementing and managing code coverage and vulnerability scanning tools like SonarQube, Fortify, or Anchore.
• Successful experience leading a team of DevOps Engineers and/or System Administrators.
• An active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the planning and evolution of processes and infrastructure to execute programs supporting capability maturation, deployment, and on-premises infrastructure modernization.
• Integrate development pipelines using automation, ensuring a solid understanding of how CMake and Conan impact build automation, dependency management, configuration management, and the overall integrity of deployed builds.
• Develop test-driven development tools to replace manual legacy processes wherever possible.
• Help define, implement, and maintain enterprise container orchestration standards using platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Rancher.
• Integrate automated code quality and security scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify, Anchore) directly into CI/CD pipelines to ensure compliant and secure delivery.
• Lead the building and configuration of delivery environments supporting CI/CD tools.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) scripts and/or templates to automate provisioning and management tasks.
• Develop custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
• Design information and operational support systems tailored for highly secure, air-gapped, or on-premises deployments.
