About The Position

We are seeking a DevSecOps Engineer as part of our Consultant, Engineering & Technical Services career path to support the modernization and operation of a large-scale enterprise cloud data platform within the federal government. This role focuses on building and maintaining the shared infrastructure that enables secure, scalable, and governed data services, supporting platform engineering, data operations, and the migration of legacy systems into modern cloud environments. This is a fully remote role. At Fearless, this Consultant collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and maintainable systems across all stages of the software and data lifecycle. This role is instrumental in delivering secure, efficient, and scalable solutions that directly impact the success of projects, teams, and organizational goals. This role will possess and/or develop the skills to be able to span the domains of software development, data engineering, infrastructure automation, information assurance, and AI/ML integration at a practical application level of proficiency. This Consultant role will work on projects that allow them to contribute across the entire technology stack—software, infrastructure, data, AI, and security—to ensure quality, speed, and innovation in delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud operations, systems administration, or related infrastructure roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
  • Proven experience with Azure cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and identity management.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and practices to automate environment provisioning and configuration.
  • Experience with automation and scripting to reduce manual operational tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and version control using Git.

  • Must be able to travel occasionally to client sites or company meetings, which may involve driving or flying.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person, requiring clear speech, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to move within an office environment, including reaching for files, using office equipment, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on federal government programs or in highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with data platform services, data engineering workflows, or analytics infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of cloud security frameworks, monitoring tools, and operational observability practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cloud platform services on Azure to support enterprise data operations and analytics workloads.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code tools to ensure consistency and repeatability across environments.
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines that enable continuous integration and deployment of platform services and applications.
  • Manage Infrastructure-as-Code repositories and configurations using Git and version control best practices.
  • Improve platform security posture by implementing cloud security controls, monitoring solutions, and compliance automation.
  • Support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes to enable scalable and portable application deployment.
  • Monitor platform reliability and performance, identifying and resolving operational issues to maintain service availability.
  • Support cloud deployments and platform integrations that enable customer onboarding and data service delivery.
