DevOps Tools Engineer (Java, Python, Kubernetes)
About The Position
We are urgently looking to fill the role of a Senior DevOps Tools Engineer who will be developing tools for devops and stress testing using Java, Python, Kubernetes and related technologies. This role requires a self-starter attitude to experiment with new technologies, research technology trends, and apply the results to performance problems. The engineer will work collaboratively with a large group of engineers from all disciplines within Engineering, execute and report on tests using performance testing tools, and present findings to a group with varying degrees of technical expertise. The role also involves proactively investigating site performance issues, responding to inquiries and requests around performance and availability, and collaborating with key stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Java Development experience
- Experience in software development using Java, Python, Kubernetes
- Self-starter attitude required to experiment with new technologies, research technology trends and apply the results to performance problems
- Experience with DevOps and Integration tools
- Basic familiarity with continuous integration tools and frameworks like Jenkins, etc
- Strong experience with Java and related web technologies
- Experience with JAVA and SQL performance tuning experience (e.g. garbage collection, heap management, JVM Configuration, V$ table, explain plan, query optimization etc.)
- Excellent ability to partner with Architects, Developers, Systems Engineers and Database Administrators to collaboratively tune systems
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to Apache, Tomcat, VmWare, OpenStack technologies a PLUS
Responsibilities
- Developing tools for devops and stress testing using Java, Python, Kubernetes and related technologies
