About The Position

We are seeking a DevOps & Infrastructure Engineer to maintain, optimize, and support the underlying platforms that drive our software development ecosystem. In this role, you will bridge the gap between software development and core IT operations. You will take ownership of developer tooling (including self-hosted GitLab, private package repositories, and CI/CD pipelines) while working closely with our IT team on underlying servers, storage, networking, and datacenter infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Strong Linux system administration experience across modern server environments.
  • Hands-on experience administering self-hosted GitLab or equivalent enterprise platforms.
  • Proficiency with Docker and containerizing legacy applications.
  • Strong experience building automation scripts (Bash, Python) and CI/CD workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying Django applications with WSGI/ASGI application servers (Gunicorn/uWSGI), Nginx, and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
  • Experience configuring and maintaining internal package repositories (e.g., PyPI, Artifactory, Nexus).
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, reverse proxies, and SSL/TLS certificate management.
  • Practical understanding of system backups, restoration procedures, and high-availability concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments or specialized internal tools (e.g., MES,).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills for collaborating with development, QA, and central IT teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage system health, upgrades, backups, disaster recovery, users/permissions, and dedicated CI/CD runners for self-hosted GitLab.
  • Maintain and continuously improve automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
  • Oversee the internal PyPI repository, including package publishing, versioning, access control, and storage management.
  • Deploy and maintain internal web applications using Gunicorn/uWSGI, Nginx, PostgreSQL/MySQL, and managed database migrations.
  • Lead the migration of the Manufacturing IP Server from aging legacy hardware to modern containerized infrastructure using Docker.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Manufacturing Execution System (MES) infrastructure and related application dependencies.
  • Perform OS installation, patching, automated monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting across Linux server fleets.
  • Work closely with the IT infrastructure team on network topology, server provisioning, storage allocation, security compliance, and datacenter projects.
  • Design, test, and maintain robust backup and recovery processes across critical engineering and manufacturing platforms.
