About The Position

This role supports the U.S. Air Force Cloud One Architecture and Common Shared Services contract and currently has an opening for a DevOps Engineer. SES is seeking a DevOps Engineer supporting AWS, Azure, GCP, and Oracle Clouds. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to modernize a leading, global-scale multi-cloud environment in support of a critical mission, supporting USAF system resiliency, security, and cost effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge in AWS Infrastructure Fundamentals (core AWS services like EC2, EBS, VPC, IAM, S3).
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (subnets, security groups, routing).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), including state management, modules, and environment separation.
  • Proficiency with Git-based source control (GitLab preferred) and Git workflows.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including automating infrastructure deployments.
  • Basic system administration skills (Linux/Server Management).
  • Experience managing server configurations and performance.
  • Familiarity with security hardening practices and understanding of STIGs or similar security baselines.
  • Understanding of backup and recovery operations, including verifying backups and performing restore operations.
  • General familiarity with ServiceNow platform structure and environments.
  • Ability to diagnose issues across infrastructure, pipelines, and applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills across multiple technical layers.
  • Experience supporting production systems.
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Coding language experience required: C#, .NET, Angular (Javascript).
  • Interim Secret clearance required to start.
  • Ability to obtain Secret clearance required to maintain employment.
  • US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Write, modify, and deploy Terraform configurations.
  • Troubleshoot failed deployments and configuration issues.
  • Utilize Git workflows (branching, merging, version control).
  • Manage and review infrastructure code changes.
  • Understand and troubleshoot pipeline-based deployments (build, test, deploy stages).
  • Automate infrastructure deployments.
  • Perform basic system administration (file systems, services, permissions).
  • Manage server configurations and performance.
  • Troubleshoot system-level issues.
  • Apply and validate secure configurations.
  • Understand backup strategies and data protection concepts.
  • Verify backups and perform restore operations.
  • Support administrative tasks and environment operations within ServiceNow.
  • Diagnose issues across infrastructure, pipelines, and applications.
  • Solve problems across multiple technical layers.
  • Support production systems.
