About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a Global Financial Institution in Charlotte, NC. This role focuses on the configuration and maintenance of OpenShift Containers and WAS servers, managing builds and deployment plans for multiple releases. The engineer will apply industry-accepted practices for developing and monitoring applications, assist in implementing them into production using Agile methodology, and is required to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per week.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Kubernetes and OpenShift container platforms, including architecture, configuration, deployment, administration, troubleshooting, and end-to-end environment setup.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Copilot, AI Agents, Generative AI solutions, or similar AI-powered development and productivity platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket, Ansible, Jenkins, Git, and related automation frameworks.
  • Strong development experience in Java/J2EE technologies.
  • Proficiency with development and monitoring tools such as Eclipse, Splunk, and similar software engineering toolsets.
  • Experience with code quality, code review, and static analysis tools such as SonarQube, Crucible, and related platforms.
  • Thorough understanding of modern software development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and continuous delivery practices.
  • Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong hands-on experience with container technologies, including Docker and containerized application deployment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in complex enterprise environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent advanced degree.

Responsibilities

  • Configuration and maintenance of OpenShift Containers and WAS servers.
  • Managing builds and deployment plans for multiple releases.
  • Applying industry-accepted practices for developing and monitoring applications according to design documents.
  • Assisting in implementing applications into a production environment using Agile methodology.
  • Designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications.
  • Monitoring, tuning, and optimizing cloud infrastructure performance, availability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Developing and maintaining automation scripts and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions for cloud provisioning, deployment, and operational management.
  • Working across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
