This role is within the Engineering Productivity team, supporting the build system, CI/CD pipelines, software installers, and cloud environments for the Ottava surgical robotics software. The position involves advancing and improving build and general support infrastructure, developing provisioning and deployment strategies, and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate with other engineering teams to meet their business requirements and support the software development lifecycle through CI/CD pipeline development. A key responsibility includes managing the QNX migration, including OS image and software upgrades. The role also focuses on optimizing Jenkins CI pipelines to enhance code quality, build reliability, and automation efficiency, as well as designing and managing AWS cloud environments using Terraform for scalable CI workflows. Additionally, the engineer will manage software builds, releases, and automated merges across multiple repositories, streamlining processes with Python scripting, and supporting and maintaining Dockerized environments for application builds and testing.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a DevOps Engineer-related occupation.
  • CI/CD pipeline support and development using Jenkins
  • Cloud and containerization technologies including AWS and Docker
  • Python and Bash
  • Code repository management, code merge, and code quality checks
  • Terraform and Artifactory

Responsibilities

  • Improve engineering efficiency of Ottava surgical robotics software as part of the Engineering Productivity team supporting the build system, CI/CD pipelines, software installers, and cloud environments.
  • Advance and improve build and general support infrastructure.
  • Develop provisioning and deployment strategies.
  • Support AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Work with engineering teams to support their business requirements.
  • Support the software development lifecycle through CI/CD pipeline development.
  • Responsible for QNX migration including OS image and software upgrades.
  • Optimize Jenkins CI pipelines used in Ottava software to improve code quality, build reliability and automation efficiency.
  • Design and manage AWS cloud environments with Terraform to support scalable CI workflows.
  • Manage software builds, releases, and automated merges across multiple repositories while streamlining processes with Python scripting.
  • Support and maintain Dockerized environments for application builds and testing, ensuring consistency across multiple environments.
